iDrum
Final project for the course "Making Music with Machines"
iDrum is the culmination of my project team's work in the course "Making Music with Machines". It is a dynamic percussion machine inspired by the innovative drum machine Perc by Polyend. It features solenoid-driven strikers positioned directly above drumheads, offering exceptional flexibility and latency-free performance. The design of iDrum prioritizes versatility, allowing it to be swiftly mounted onto various drums and cymbals commonly found in a standard drum set. Leveraging existing drum mounts from Latin Percussion, our setup proves to be remarkably adaptable.
